Artist Biography
Shraddha Patel was born in Toronto, Canada (1984) and raised in Richmond, VA. She currently resides in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA with her husband and daughter. Her parents were first generation immigrants from India who left their country for the "American Dream." Discouraged from studying Art, she focused her studies and career in Business. It wasn't until she met her now husband that she dove into her calling again. With his encouragement, Shraddha started taking Art classes alongside working fulltime, but it wasn't until she explored Abstract Art that she found her passion. She finds inspiration through color in everyday life, however her approach is more intuitive and her art has become a form of meditation for her. She is happiest with her work when she is able to disconnect from the what and why and tap into intuition and emotion. When looking at her work, she wants her audience to feel, not just see.
